We have great news to kick off this academic year! The IEEE Student Branch UAB x GDGoC UAB is thrilled to announce that AiXun has joined us as our new official sponsor, helping us to keep growing one of the parts of our community that we love the most: practical workshops.
Thanks to their collaboration, AiXun has provided us with new soldering stations that we will use in our upcoming workshops and activities at the Open Labs of the UAB School of Engineering.
For us, this partnership means much more than just receiving new equipment. It means being able to offer better tools to students, organizing more hardware activities, and, above all, continuing to create spaces where anyone can learn by doing.
🛠️ More Tools, More Practice, and More Projects
From the very beginning, we’ve had a very clear idea: engineering isn’t learned just by looking at slides.
We want to open up circuits, code, set up servers, experiment, make mistakes, try again, and end up building something that works with our own hands.
Soldering is precisely one of those skills we often study in theory but don’t always get the chance to practice. Thanks to the new equipment provided by AiXun, we will be able to keep improving our soldering workshops and prepare new activities for this academic year.
Whether you have never touched a soldering iron before or already have experience with electronics, our goal is for you to come, learn, and walk out of the workshop knowing something new.
🔥 Getting Ready for Upcoming Workshops
Those who joined us last year will surely remember our soldering workshop in the OpenLab, where we briefly set aside notes and laptops to work directly with components and electronic boards.
This academic year, we want to go even further.
The new soldering stations will allow us to prepare more practical sessions and new electronics and hardware projects, while offering an improved experience for all participating students.
And yes… that means we will be soldering again very soon. 👀
❤️ Thank You, AiXun
We want to give a special thanks to AiXun for trusting our community and supporting an initiative created by students and for students.
Having partners who invest in hands-on learning allows us to keep growing this project and bring professional tools and technologies to students who want to learn, experiment, and develop their own ideas.
Every station we use in our upcoming workshops represents a new opportunity for someone to solder for the first time, discover a new hobby, or even take the first step towards a future project.
So, on behalf of the whole team:
Thank you so much, AiXun, for helping us keep building, experimenting, and learning! 🛠️❤️
🚀 What’s Next?
This is just the beginning.
Throughout the 2026-2027 academic year, we will continue organizing practical workshops on hardware, software, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, web development, and many other technologies at the UAB School of Engineering.
And with our new stations ready for action, our upcoming soldering workshops already promise to be packed with solder, circuits, and plenty of excitement to learn.
