Blast Off! Inside the Grand Premiere of IEEE UAB 🚀

We did it! On February 13th, classroom QC-3115.4 at the School of Engineering became the epicenter of student innovation with our first official launch event.

If you missed it, here is everything that happened (and why you shouldn’t miss the next one 😉).

🌍 More Than a Talk: A Mission

We kicked off the session by presenting what it really means to be part of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). It’s not just another association; we are talking about connecting with the world’s largest network of technical experts, accessing exclusive papers, and, above all, building a powerful local community right here at UAB.

We presented our Roadmap 2026, an ambitious plan full of company visits, technical projects, and competitions.

Hands-On: Automation with n8n

The star of the day was undoubtedly the practical workshop. We left the theory aside and got to work with n8n, the Open Source workflow automation tool.

We learned how to connect services, automate repetitive tasks, and create “magic” without writing hundreds of lines of code. It was incredible to see how profiles from Computer Science, AI, Telecoms, and Data Science collaborated and discovered the potential of low-code.

The Numbers Speak for Themselves

The reception exceeded our expectations:

  • 41 registered interested in the initiative, with a final attendance of 19 highly motivated people.
  • A satisfaction rating of 4.93 out of 5 ⭐ in the final survey.
  • Students from 1st year to PhD level sharing the same space.

What excites us most is your feedback. You asked for more Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, PCB Design, and Soldering. We heard you loud and clear!

What’s Next?

This is just the beginning. Thanks to your enthusiasm, we are already cooking up the next events:

  1. Software Workshops: We will dive deeper into AI and Cloud (your favorites!).
  2. Hardware: We are working on getting kits and organizing PCB design and soldering sessions.

Want to Be Part of the Change?
