Welcome to the website for the initiative to create the IEEE Student Branch at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. Important Notice: The IEEE UAB Student Branch is currently a student-led initiative in its formation phase. It is not yet formally established as a legal association in Spain.

- Identification and contact data: Name, surname, email address, and student ID number (NIU), which you voluntarily provide when filling out registration forms, interest lists, newsletter subscriptions, or event registrations.
- Academic data: The degree program and academic year you are enrolled in, to help us tailor our communications and activities.
- Technical and browsing data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and other technical data collected automatically through cookies or similar technologies to improve the functionality of the website.
3. For what purpose do we use your data?
Your personal data will be used for the following purposes:
- To manage interest registration and membership: To administer the list of students interested in joining the branch and, in the future, to formalize their membership with IEEE global.
- To send communications: To inform you about our activities, events, workshops, news, and other relevant opportunities through our newsletter or emails, provided we have your explicit consent.
- To organize and manage events: To handle your registration and participation in the activities we organize.
- To analyze and improve our website: To understand how users interact with our site and thereby improve its content and functionality.

The legal basis for processing your data is primarily your explicit consent, which you grant by filling out a form, subscribing to our newsletter, or registering for an event.

- IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers): Once the branch is formally established, member data must be shared with the global IEEE organization to formalize membership and provide access to the corresponding benefits.
- Service providers: We use third-party tools to manage our communications (e.g., Mailchimp), organize events (e.g., Google Forms, Eventbrite), or analyze web traffic (e.g., Google Analytics). These providers act as data processors and have their own privacy policies.
