SUMMARY:User Experience in WordPress Development 💻🎨
DESCRIPTION:Contrary to what is often believed\, building a website is not a linear process divided into phases that separate professionals from different disciplines. A well-executed web project should resemble a neural map of interconnected disciplines working together to create a solid product. \nOne of the keys to making this possible is applying user experience to the development process of a WordPress website. \n🧠 About the session\nWhen we think about user experience\, we usually associate it with design and the end user—the person who visits our website. However\, the experience of the end user is influenced by all the disciplines involved in building the website: from SEO to development\, content creation\, and\, of course\, design decisions. \nIt is also shaped by the experience of the editor who manages the website. \nIn this session\, we aim to reflect on the role development plays in user experience and show how we make design and development work together to achieve great results for both the end user and the editor. All of this using the website wpbarcelona.com as a real example. \n👤 Speakers\nJuanKa Díaz – Front-End Developer & Project Manager\nJuanKa is a Front-End developer and project lead at his own web development studio\, jdevelopia. \nPassionate about the harmony between code and design\, with a programmer’s mindset and a creative soul. Developer and maintainer of several projects such as jdevelopia.com\, wptarragona.com\, wpbarcelona.com\, joomlaes.org\, and techneforum.com. Speaker\, podcaster\, and strong advocate of open-source software and its philosophy. Fully involved in the open-source community and a frequent speaker at tech events. \n🔗 Twitter | Web | LinkedIn | Facebook \nNora Ferreirós – UX/UI Designer\nNora is a UX/UI designer and active contributor to the WordPress project. As part of the WordPress community\, she has contributed through translations\, talks\, event organization\, and volunteering\, helping grow the open-source ecosystem. \nHer work focuses on raising awareness about the responsibility we have regarding the impact of our work on society and the environment\, and helping projects become more responsible and sustainable. \n🔗 noraferreiros.com \n📅 Event Details\n\nDate: May 22\, 2026\nTime: 13:00 – 14:30\nLocation: Seminari A (QC/0011)\, Escola d’Enginyeria UAB\nRequirements: Bring your laptop\n⚠️ Important: You must install LocalWP before attending\n\n🎟️ Registration required\nDon’t miss this opportunity to learn how professionals build and shape the WordPress community!
