The academic year has kicked off in style with an international-level event! Last Wednesday, October 14th, we traveled to Tinglados (Barcelona) after being officially invited to Cloud AI Live Barcelona, the landmark gathering to dive headfirst into the revolution of agentic artificial intelligence and the most cutting-edge tools in the Google Cloud ecosystem.
It was an intense afternoon of technology, community, and cutting-edge learning where the IEEE Student Branch UAB x GDGoC UAB played a very special role.
📍 Our Own Space at the Google Developer Program Booth
One of the most exciting moments of the day was having our own dedicated space inside the Google Developer Program Booth. We decorated the booth with posters of all the workshops, talks, and events we have shared together throughout the year at the School of Engineering.
The booth became the perfect meeting point to say hello to all the peers who secured their limited tickets at our previous event, build team spirit, exchange insights with industry professionals, and show the full potential of our university community.
⚡ Google Cloud Developers Track: Agentic AI in Action
During the three hours of the technical track specially designed for developers, we witnessed live demonstrations and immersive sessions showing us where the future of software is heading:
- Google Cloud Developers Lab: We learned how to build custom agents using the Agent Development Kit (ADK) with Python, integrating real data and tools, and connecting them with autonomous platforms.
- Live Demos: We got first-hand experience with next-generation tools like Antigravity 2.0, the new Gemini, Antigravity CLI, and the advanced capabilities of Google Cloud Enterprise.
- Productivity and Intelligent Workflows: We discovered how to take workflows to the next level by integrating Gemini with agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), MCP Apps, and dynamic interfaces.
🕒 An Afternoon Packed with Knowledge
The agenda was packed to make the most of every minute: from check-in and welcome coffee at 3:00 PM to presentations on reinventing development and managing autonomous agents, wrapping up the day at 6:00 PM with key takeaways on agentic productivity.
