    FAQ

    Do I need previous experience in electronics or programming before starting at OPS?

    Not at all! OPS is designed for students who have never worked with embedded systems or hardware. We hope that by the end of the program you’ll be able to say you know how all of this stuff works.

    Unfortunately, due to the high interest in the OPS program and the limited number of materials available, not all students who apply will be accepted. This year, 25 spots will be available. However, those who were not initially accepted can follow the program on the website.

    There are a total of 9 projects for the program with 7 projects ranging from LED lighting to a weather station, 1 optional project that does not affect the deposit refund, and finally, 1 final project of an RC Rover.

    Upon completion of the eight required projects within the deadlines, students will receive a refund of their €20 deposit and an official certificate of participation. They’ll also get to keep their box of parts!

    Class locations and times will change each semester based on changes in student and instructor schedules. These dates and locations can be found on the Caronte website and on this website.

    Yes, you can! All the presentation slides will soon be posted on the Caronte website and website. We’ll also try to record as many presentations as possible.

    Discord! All instructors will frequently check the OPS Discord channel for student questions or comments. They will attempt to answer virtually all possible questions and provide guidance as needed.

    It depends. If students work on their projects gradually during the two weeks between projects, it may only require an hour or two each week. However, each project can take up to 6-8 hours if completed in a single session, and the less experienced the student, the longer it may take.
